My Life And Coding
Three years ago, I never would have imagined that I'd be teach myself how to code—let alone making it a career. I didn't even own a computer. Life changes though. This is a change that I embraced to the fullest.
Believe it or not, I started learning how to code on my smart phone. I spent four months learning this way before I finally bought a laptop. That purchase had opened the door to a world I hadn't known existed. Coding became a passion. I spent hours learning, and I'm still learning to this day. JavaScript has challenged me, but I am gradually getting more comfortable with the language.
I first started coding to build a project of my own. As I worked on its foundations, life threw a few hurdles in my way, and I had to put the project on the back burner. Along the way, I realized that the care I put into my code came from wanting my project to be the best it could be. I also saw that my skills could help other people bring their ideas to life in the same way as what I wanted for myself.
This is why I wanted to get involved with website development. I want to help businesses get the right developments to meet their needs, and to be someone that clients can trust to give them honest answers. My long-term goal was born from that point. It is to grow the company into a nonprofit that gives junior developers and designers a chance to gain experience and build a better future for themselves.
I also hope to make quality, affordable websites available to as many small businesses as I can. Templates and AI tools can be useful, but I believe there's real value in having a person who listens, understands your needs, and cares about the result. I still have time to make a difference, and that's what I'm setting out to do.
